How to Make Your Own Signature TutorialThis is my first tutorial so if anything is confusing feel free to ask for clarification.
You will need: A photo editing program such as photoshop. I used Paint.net because it is both free and easy to use.
A program like this is necessary because it enables you to have multiple layers for your signature.
Step 1: Make your picture the size you want. (The standard size on Simspired is 600px × 135px), you will want your banner to be much wider than it's height.
Step 2: Add a background.
You can do this by using a stock image from the internet, using the paint bucket tool, etc. For this tutorial I simply selected a color and used the paint bucket tool to apply that color to the entire background.
Step 3: Add image(s).
This is when the ability to use multiple layers comes in handy. I used 2 simple images for the purpose of this tutorial, each in it's own layer.
1.Select image you want, if it has a background delete it
2.Copy the image and when you go to paste it on your banner select Paste into new layer.
3.Fit the image to the banner by resizing it and place it wherever you desire.
*Tip: I like to use the resize image option on the image I'm adding to the banner before I paste it on the banner so that I have to do minimum resizing.
Step 4: Add text.
Put the text in another layer. You can change font and color as long as the text is selected.
Step 5: Combine the layers into one layer.
If you skip this step you won't be able to save the image in a sharable format.
Step 6: Save image
Make sure the banner/signature is the right size for the website you wish to use it on. The formats used in most places is .png or .jpeg .
Step 7: Save image to a Picture sharing site, such as Photobucket.
Step 8: Put image on the website you want.
You can do this by either:
1.Using the [insert image] option on the website you want to add the signiture to,copy and paste the link to the image.(Aqua)
2.Using the IMG code which consists of
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]. (Yellow) Copy and paste this code to the signature portion of the website you want to use this sig. on.
