| I am looking for mods that are safe to put on my computer. I am really nervous about using mods, but I wanted to give it a try. So I need trusted websites that aren't going to mess up my game or be riddled with bugs or viruses. | |

| These are pretty much the only mods I use. They've never given me any problems unless I forget to update them when there's a new patch. http://nraas.wikispaces.com/ | |

| I use a bunch of mods... -Like pepper said NRaas has the best mods. I especially use Mastercontroller for sim creation, and modification. -modthesims.info has many great mods, my favorite mod creator there is Buzzler, he has a no carpool mod and a socialization mod that are awesome. Another modthesims mod I like is Shoni's Vampire mod that improves vampire sim playability. modthesims is also the home of cmoney, creator of the awesome poseplayer. The pose player now adds a photoshoot option to sims that makes photo shoots easier. -I also trust Twofatmama's mods at The Aylum http://simsasylum.com/tfm/ . My favorite by her is the plantastic gardening mod. -You can also find Shimrod's mods at The Asylum, my favorite mod by him(?) is mod that lets sims paint paintings from any level that the've skilled up to. -I do use Awesomemod in my game, however I don't really recommend it because its creator and the community on that site are rather rude. Also it can make saves unplayable without it if it's not uninstalled correctly. The reason I keep it in my game is because of the cheats it adds, especially the "fixall" cheat that can help fix problems in the game.

| so if I used a mod in my game, could I turn it off and on, so I wouldn't have to play with the mod on all the time | |

| You don't exactly 'turn it off', but simply delete it once you don't want to use it anymore. | |

| Well some mods need to be turned on like the Growing Mod. Which I absolutely love, I love seeing my children sims grow into teenagers slowly. | |

| This one from Nraas definitely comes in handy when building. By default it saves every 30 minutes. You can accept the save or decline it, but it helps if you ever forget to save. http://nraas.wikispaces.com/Saver+Phase+Four | |

| As for turning mods on and off... I use a program called "AnyGameStarter3" it allows me to create multiple games, that allows for using different EPs and (most importantly for me) mods and custom content in different games. This helps a lot with themed games (such as the Zombie Simpocalypse), you can put themed CC/mods in that game only. You can find it at modthesims here http://www.modthesims.info/download.php?t=406814 . *The creator has not updated it for a while, but it works great for me, | |

| What can you tell me about the mods: ErrorTrap and Overwatch from nraas? Are they trust worthy? I am having some major problems with sims right now and this seems to be one of the answers for how to solve it. I try to limit my mod usage... so I figure I should ask around before I put more mods into my game. | |

| UPDATE: I don't know if you heard, but Twallan the famous mod designer on nraas announced his retirement from making mods for the sims. He stopped mid project, but left the coding for anyone who wants to take a stab at working on his mods. You can use his old ones as long as Sims 3 doesn't decide to do another patch update. Then you'll have to decide between his mods or the patch update. | |
